Australia born Executive Chef Guy Davies’ passion for cooking has taken him all over the world and landed him in Milwaukee. With his experience he has crafted the perfect menu for your next evening out! Each course is paired with a Good City Brewing beer and Journeyman Distillery whiskey. After three long years, beer dinners at Good City Brewing are back! 

The first beer dinner since COVID will showcase Good City’s new cocktail program. Launched this summer, all 4 Good City taproom locations now feature a curated craft cocktail menu in partnership with Journeyman Distillery of Three Oaks, Michigan. Each course will feature select Good City beers, including 3 brand new releases (Apple Session Sour, Black IPA, and Barrel Aged Rye Stout). Additionally, each course will feature a different select whiskey from Journeyman. A Journeyman representative will also be present during the dinner to provide education. “Food pairing is all about exploration and we’re excited to create an experience for guests to explore both the versatility of beer and whiskey,” says Katt.

The food courses selected and prepared by Brewery Chef Guy Davies include Australian Wagyu short rib. “This cut of meat is really special and will hold up and pair well with craft beer and whiskey,” says Davies. “This being our first beer dinner since COVID, it’s especially meaningful for me to have a chance to explore my roots by sourcing products from my native Australia.”

Course 1:

Maple-roasted acorn squash salad with arugula and pomegranate

Cocktail: Fine Girl Brandy, OCG Apple Cider Liqueur, Lemon, Simple, Blackstrap Bitters

Beer: Apple Ale - Session Sour

 

Course 2:

Duck Fat Confit Duroc Pork Belly with French lentils and fig ratatouille 

Cocktail: Not a King Rye

Beer: Risk - IPA

 

Course 3:

Slow-cooked Australian Wagyu short rib, creamy potato and parsnip pureé, braised carrots with orange and rosemary, and red wine au jus  

Cocktail: Silver Cross Whiskey

Beer: Unknown Status - Black IPA

 

Course 4:

Charcuterie featuring Uplands Cheese Pleasant Ridge Reserve Alpine-style Cheese and Red Bear Provisions Red Square Salami

Cocktail: Featherbone Bourbon

Beer: Tenacity - Barrel Aged Rye Whiskey Imperial Stout
